Hi folks,
This weekend I listened to some recordings of songs I wrote for my old band, before I started playing lap steel. I tried out one song called "Not Tonight" (that I wrote in 2004 on standard guitar) on my baritone Weissenborn (Bb major tuning - Bb-F-Bb-D-F-Bb, low to high - D-format but tuned down), and I made a youtube video to see what people think of it, before I decide whether to include it on my album or not:

What do you think? Feedback would be much appreciated!
(The guitar is a Burgin baritone Weissenborn (27.4" scale) and the bar is my "El Gordo" crystal bar from Diamond Bottlenecks.)
Have a good Sunday evening!

Sounds good Fred!
But I must say it's a bit strange hearing you playing in a major tuning!
Would this be on your album as it is ( ie: unaccompanied)?
Maybe I'd have your violin-playing friend fade in underneath, maybe some simple plaintive line that harmonises the chord progression... imho that would sound quite fitting for this tune's melancholic and very personal feel.
BTW, the baritone sounds awesome! ![Cool](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) |

I like it too Fred, I like the lyrics and I like the tone of the baritone. a glockenspiel would be really cool I'd bet.

Thanks Jason and Tom!
Tom - I tend to really like that the scale is short on my New Yorkers (23" I think) as it makes slanting etc. easier. But the acoustic baritone is like a cathedral of sound so I'm sure an electric baritone would be a very interesting instrument too!
