Can anyone suggest a good copy program? I've used both Nero, & Roxio, but my Nero doesn't want to copy DVD's & I left my Roxio at home in Canada. I've heard reports on Pyro 5, & that it's supposed to be top of the line. Has anyone tried it, or can recommend something better. I have made CD's with Nero, & don't play well in a car player, but CD's made with Pyro 5 will play better, is this true?? |

Nero is considered the best CD/DVD burning software by most "techies" Pyro is Cakewalk CD audio burning software but according to the "experts" on the Cakewalk Sonar forum, Nero is the preferred program to use to burn audio CD's.
If you are copying commercial movie DVD's, legitimate programs will not copy DVD's that are copy protected. In addition, many commercial movie DVD content is more than one standard DVD blank.
In reference to making music CD's for car in dash systems. Music CD's should not be burned at speeds over 12X for compatibility with most car (and home) audio CD players. If you are making MP3, not standard audio (music) CD's, only CD players that specifically say they will play MP3's will play these. Finally, DO NOT use CD-RW (rewriteable) CD's for music as many audio CD players, especially older car in-dash CD players are not RW compatibile. To be on the safe side, ONLY use CD-R blanks and burn at 12X or slower (my music CD burning "standard" is 8X). Also avoid Memorex brand as this is one brand that is inconsistent in quality and has a track record of random burning problems. |

thanks Jack.. Maybe I should go & buy a good Nero. The one I've been using is a bare bones version that came with my computer.. The CD I want to make is my own band , so it's not copyrighted.. I'm not real interested in copying DVD movies, other than I'd like to copy my VHS tapes to DVD's. |

DVDFab is the best I've seen for backing up DVDs. You can compress a normal DVD9 onto a DVD5 with minimal loss. You can copy the entire original DVD onto a blank DVD9, copy just the movie, copy only certain parts, etc. The copy protection is removed in the process. _________________ Gary Shepherd
