I just bought Brian Herder's early '50's Fender T-8 Custom non-pedal steel.

I am looking forward to transferring what I know about playing pedal steel, dobro and working with various tunings before to this well travelled axe.

If any of you know any of it's history please let me know.

BTW if anyone has the SMALL Diamonds for this vintage, please let me know... I need 1. Also a period Fender Decal.

Thanks,

Hey Bill,

In the for sale post for the steel you have just bought, Eddie Cunningham said he would give a diamond to the buyer of that steel. You had better email him quick before somebody tries to fenagel it off him!

Thank goodness for Eddie C, and his generosity and knowledge.

I think Brian already has it, and if I recall, he said it was too big.

I guess there are two sizes???

It arrived in as good a shape as it was in when shipped.

It is GREAT. All original, and all electronics are working perfect. After a little cleanup it is looking and sounding great. I have set up E13, A6 and C6 tunings... but I am wondering if I will stick with these.

I would be interested in exploring any variations of these...and plan to look into those shown in the Forum.

Any other suggestions?
