Hey Folks,
Looks like our next jam session will be on November 15, 2008. We will start around 10:00AM getting tuned up and get down to some serious playing around noon.
The jam session will be at the same place as last time, the Country & Western Museum located at 3925 SE 29th, Del City, OK.
I do hope you can attend, even if only to listen to some great playing. Coffee will be on so please come join us.
Ken :
P.S. Stopped by too see Bob Stuart yesterday and it's good news. The operation was successful, all the parts were repaired, he is looking good, in good spirits and they have him up and walking. Not a good time to stop our prayers, so keep them going. |

Wanted to report that I am back in town and today paid Bob Sturat a visit. When I arrived he was in a deep sleep, however, nurse arrived to do some excercising of his hand. On one of his walks Bov fell and the nurse assisting was unable to hold his weight allowing him to fall and hurt his right hand.
Evelyn, his wife said he has some down days but, having been through what he just went through I thought he looked great, he was in good humor and smiled a lot. The Dr's are very impressed with his progress and they are already talking of moving him to Jim Thorpe for rehab before to long. Prayers are being answered. I tried to encourage him that every day will be a better day and to push himself in the walking to gain his strength.
Look forward to Nov. 15th for our next jam!!!!!! |

Hey Ken,
Do you mind if I come by for a while just to visit, drink coffee, and maybe see if anybody wants my last SESSION 500?
Yep. I've decided to sell "Old Ugly".
Summer of '07 it went to the factory for a good "going over". Came back with a clean bill of health (no big surprise) and still sounds like a million bucks.
Has a SB 1501-4. You can tell where I repaired the tolex in spots.
Yes, I know it's the best steel amp that PEAVEY ever made, but I'm gonna try just the Ken Fox NV400 and a NV112 for a while. Will likely even add a 2nd NV112.....
See you there..........Joel

This was another good session. Many good steel players and a special acknowledgement for the backup band, especially for John Anderson, bass and vocals.
....and a "crown for my special friend and talented musician Wayne Hutchinson", who plays great guitar, and sings "everything" even when no one else knows the song!
The attendees of this event are mostly acquaintances of long standing who have known each other for many years and the friendship is secondary to anything else that ocurrs....so, may God Bless you all!
Love you guys......

I will just echo what Gene had to say. What a great group of guys. Marty Neer, thanks so much for attending our jam. You certainly added with you great playing. Hope Huch didn't pick on your abilities to much that you will want to return. Ken and Leroy are doing a fantastic job in making sure we have a jam for everyone to enjoy. When you have 10 steel players you are really doing great. Let's make it another great showing on the Dec. 6th.Gene you always add so much to our jam and we appreciate your talents. I would like to extend a welcome to those who use to attend when we were meeting in Tuttle. Come out and see what a good time we are having. We miss you!!!! |

Hew You Guys
I say AAAAAAA Man! to what Gene and Loren said about our last Jam. The band did a great job,and so did all the pickers. A special thanks to Ken Hoyt for all the behind the scenes work and planning. He also has the equipment and expertise to present selected steel lessons on power point if we want to do that some time.
See you on Dec 6 Leroy |

AfterI just read what I said it was not my intention to exclude Wayne Morton. I would call him Mr. Smoooth. Congratulations Wayne for being ask to play at the recent Nashville show and the invite to Buddy Emmons home with other noted players including our recent visitor Randy Beavers. Thanks for giving us copies of scales etc. so that we can become better players. I have great admiration for those who become outstanding players and are willing to share how they did it with the ones who are trying to learn! This is what makes our OKC jam so special. |
