Mike,
I'm glad to be a part of this Event for Big Bob, and I want to applaud Teresa and you for heading up the effort to make it happen. Our "kind" may well be a little eccentric and moody, (really?...) but, one thing's for sure, when the moment calls for it, we unite for right causes and good people like nobody else!
Thanks for the afternoon spot; that makes it possible for my brother, Larry, to be there with me, which means a lot. His sons, my beautiful sister, Linda, and her son, Caleb, will all be there to witness firsthand what we've been telling them about the Steel Guitar Family of Friends and incredible Musicians.
Bob, it looks to me like you've got a boatload of Friends who think a lot of you for the right reasons. Congratulations...that's the true measure of a life well lived, sir.
Looking forward to being with ya!

Well, tomorrow is the big day! We're looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible there. I already know it's going to be a lot of fun! By the way, the Legion has a big screen TV in the bar so all you Titan fans can watch the game and keep up with the score while you're there. Now you really have no excuse not to come! See you there!

The time I spent yesterday talking to Mr. Bob Martin inspired me to "keep the Faith" and a good attitude to go along with it, and to be willing to Work Hard to make good things happen where and when YOU CAN. I saw in him both Humility and Great Strength...and an unmistakeable LIGHT. I couldn't help thinking, "we're all supposed to be here "for him", but I think his countenance was there as a blessing "for us".
The turnout was excellent, the music my family and I enjoyed while we were able to be there was premium, and the added opportunity to see some people who are dear to my heart completed a very nice day.
I know that Teresa and Mike Sweeney, and their faithful helpers must have left the building sometime late last night very tired, but I hope that it was mixed with a sense of satisfaction for a mission well accomplished.
And, thanks, Mike for your conscientious attention to "the details" as a band leader, (it always matters and yesterday it "covered" me more than once...) and to you and Teresa for being very good Friends.

A great big THANK YOU to everyone who participated yesterday! All the bands and singers were great and we really appreciated them giving their time and talents for this celebration. There are way too many to name each one, but we thank them all. The folks who helped with the planning and donations were great as well as the folks at Legion 88. They went out of their way to make us welcome and to set things up the way we needed them to be. Special thanks to Zach Neal, for providing the PA and to James Curtis, for providing the drum set. Judi Martin and Jay Andrews played a big part in getting in touch with players, singers and friends. We had a good crowd and raised a good amount for Bob. He was with us almost all day and really enjoyed the music (he even played some), seeing old friends and making new ones. Again, thanks to all of you for helping make this day a success.
