All this week "Wheel of Fortune" has been taped in Hawaii. There is a lot of Steel Guitar in the background music. I wonder if this is "canned music" or if was recorded just for the program, and if so, who is playing Steel Guitar. It sounds like there is a little pedal steel going on to expand the Hawaiian sounds.

Back in the late 1990's, I did 5 or 6 short jingles for King Productions and the Wheel show. They were a couple of 15 second audio clips, a couple of 30 second ones and if I remember correctly, a 60 second spot. It was very quick in and out in about 30 minutes. I remember getting $75 for the studio time and I think I still have a copy of the check that was mailed to me 3 months later.
I do know that for several years following, they were using those audio clips on the Hawaiian shows, but I dont know about now. My guess is that they would have recorded something new by now. BTW, I took a ShoBud Pro II in to do the spots, using the c6 neck with no pedals. I'll listen to the show this week to see if its the same audio...
