I've acquired a nice 69 Emmons D10 9x6. Who would you recommend to set it up? It will require multiple KL and pedal switches.
Thanx for your input,

i recommend you learn to set it up yourself so you're not at the mercy of other people. if you're smart enough to learn to play a steel, you're smart enough to deal with the relatively simple mechanics. did you ever have an erector set? |

Good point Chris,
My parents knew better than to get ME an erector set after I took my older brothers, ran a wire from the outlet to my building an electrocuted my sister..
They then decided to get me a steel guitar hoping I would electrocute myself but I fooled them and chose the much slower death of playing for a living!
Thanx,
TW |

Chris' point is most valid, the only way to REALLY know your guitar is to work on it yourself..
There are some things you can't buy, one of them is experience.. _________________

Tommy,
Dave Robbins in the Nashville area is doing all of my P/P work now. I'm very impressed with the knowledge he has about them, and I've been very satisfied with what he's done for me so far. Email me if you need to contact him.

Tommy, '69 P/P's are known to be highly radioactive, especially black ones. Stay as far away from the guitar as possible. I am a certified nuclear waste technician. I will come pick it up and take it to a proper disposal site for you at no charge. |

Shucks Larry, How could I sleep nights if I didn't try to do the right thing and help poor Tommy out. He probably doesn't know it but sometimes giving away a steel guitar can even save a marriage! |

Peter, I've always wondered why I start to glow when I play this thing! Thanx Jim & Jim and Nick for your input. Larry, I'm not sure I should take Peter up on his "offer" though one less steel guitar sure wouldn't hurt my marriage. TW |
