Ok, I've got a few of the shobuds. Starting with my '67 fingertip--prior owner removed the logo in center of apron.

Next is my daughter's '68 singleneck Professional, before I refurbed it. Note the two knobs and one switch on the back shelf. The switch was the coiltap switch, and the knobs are volume and tone knobs.

Next is a (end of 1969) '69 "The Professional" D-10, one of the very first made. Note the old style diamond inlay. This guitar was made just after the Baldwin/Crossover era. This is a guitar I used to own.

The other two we still have. That is, the fingertip and the single neck Professional.

Im not sure how much help i will get, but we are off to a good start... Smile

Well Mike, you have a great idea there, and I hope folks do not mistake this for a "Shobud only" thread.

Also, I don't know how extensive you'd like to get, but I have hundreds of detailed pictures of undercarrage/changers/fingers, ect. if you need more detail.

Note the old style diamond inlay.

Really? I have a Super Pro with that inlay. Didn't realize it was that old.

Yep, really. The newer diamond inlay that I have seen is different--the diamond points actually touch. Email me a picture of yours, Barry, I'd like to see this old style on a Super Pro.

James, I can't, the guitar's in storage. However, it shouldn't be any different than any other Super Pro. I thought you were referring to the diamond pattern being old, not the spacing of the diamonds within the pattern.

I don't suppose this one counts - I'm clueless about Sho-Bud dating...but here it is anyway.

Sorry, Mike - I just re-read your post; neither of those steels can have been from the '60s. It's only me who qualifies!

Maybe I was inspired by that guy in the Winnie Winston book - who appears to be demonstrating how to throw a pedal-steel over his shoulder.

He looked even scarier 'cause he had trousers to match!!!

Ah, That's cool, Barry, sometimes there was some custom shop guitars, and this old style very well might have come out of on a Super Pro. But yes, there were several different inlays used at Shobud company. My favorite is the rope inlay. To me, it's awesome. Stu's guitar also has that old style diamond inlay. Rodger R.'s guitar has the zigzag style, for lack of a better description. These are all beautiful guitars.

Here is a 1969 Sho~Bud Baldwin transitional model, when they were ushering out the Crossover and introducing the Professional. This one has a Crossover-type body but Professional mechanics, 8+3. It was with me for a while, and now resides in California.

Well, I believe that's implied with the opening post, right?

Of course, If Mike were to acquire his pictures through the search function as you suggest, he might need that permission.

Mike has my permission to use mine I've posted on this thread. Cool

Yours looks more minty than mine, but man what tone and sustain. I really like these old Emmons pickups with the solid black edge.
Cheers!
