I have just completed a new C6th Course for the Six String Non Pedal or "Lap Steel" Guitar.

Herein is a collection of favourites of some of Hank Snow's early hits and the very ones that had me sitting down practicing for many hours, many years ago. I still love to play them and I hope that steel guitar sounds such as these will remain with us for many years to come.

The Song List:

My Nova Scotia Home, The Convict And The Rose, Bluebird Island, Rose Of Old Monterey, A Fool Such
as I, Faded Petal, Brand On My Heart, I Wonder Where
You are tonight and My Mother.

The Course includes CD and matching Tablature and what makes it somewhat unique is that I have included the Tab for the Flat Top Guitar parts as well as the Steel Guitar parts. It is all written as it happens on the CD. I added this with the hope that it may help some Flat Top players who wish to emulate Hanks way of "pickin'.

Hank was a Canadian of course, and I played all his tunes in the late 40s and early 50s. His steel man had very nice tone in his playing. Some of my favorites are in your list Smile He passed away in 1997 if I remember correctly. There was a site called "friends of Hank Snow" don't know if it exists now.

Hi Bill,

Yes, there is a Friends of Hank Site dedicated
to his Music and career.
A museum in Liverpool, Nova Scotia his birthplace
and a Festival is held in August of every year
in Bridgewater, N.S. which always draws many
fans.
I have many fond memories of learning the songs
in my course and I still enjoy playing them
today.

Best Regards,

Roy
