I know that the Peavey Pacer was the basis for the original LTD 400. I was curious if anyone ever tried converting an old pacer to an LTD 400. If so, how hard was it to do & how expensive was it to do?

If you're not familiar with the story behind the LTD 400, please check out Brad Sarno's page about it:

The page is very informative and awesome!!!

It's not a simple mod, and not cheap - even if you can do it all yourself. It would require a new transformer, power transistors, caps, and some chassis modifications (for the added power transistors). Then you have to shoehorn in a new speaker, too.

Now, I suppose if you were a tech and had all that stuff lying around, it might be fun. But it would be far easier now to just buy an LTD, wouldn't it?
