I think my DD 3 Puked. When I have it hooked up in line from guitar to the amp I get a cracking sound/then full on volume. As soon as you crack that vol. pedal the vol. is the same all through the range. I took the DD 3 out of the config. and all is well. Can these pedals be repaired? Thanks, Greg

If you are using it with an AC power adapter, try it with a (good) battery and see how it works. If it works OK with the battery, the AC adapter is probably bad. But, if it does the same thing with a good battery then there is an internal electronics problem.

Jack, I am using it with the oem ac adapter. I didn't think it used a 9 volt I'll have to check. If it's the unit, do people repair them or are they trash? It is the Boss DD 3 Not a copy.
Thanks Greg

Greg,

I had a DD-3 that went bad many years ago.
Sent it back to BOSS to get fixed (had to pay,
of course) and it's never had a problem since.

I don't know what they'll charge now to fix it,
might be worth finding out.

If the DD3 is like most of that vintage Boss pedals, you can install a battery under the foot switch pedal.

I've seen problems caused by a bad power supply. Won't hurt to try a battery.

Roland/Boss has an excellent support department. I have sent 2 pedals in for repair. Most recently was a DM-2 repaired for $37.00/2 week turnaround. They do provide an estimate before the repair.

Duh! Found the Battery. Changed it. Still the same. I'll send it off and see if they'll fix it.
Thanks guys. Greg
