We had The NRPS and Moonalice here in Portland last night.
Two great bands, both with steel players!
'Got to hang with Buddy Cage for quite a while, that was very cool.
Great song selection by The NRPS, including lots of new material penned by Robert Hunter and put to music by David Nelson.
Great playing by all as well.
Barry Sless played PSG and Guitar for Moonalice and took some great solo's on both.
G.E. Smith is also in the band and he is just soooo coooool, had killer tone on an array of guitars, and is a flat out legendary guitarist, imho.
An excellent night of JamBand Music!
A good time was had by all!

Pete, that must have been a blast. Buddy Cage is the reason I play psg. I loved his work with NRPS!

and GE Smith?, I saw him with Hall and Oates in the early 80's, he's a wild man!

Wish I could have seen em'.

Buddy was playing a red Emmons LeGrande SD10 with 4 pedals (I forgot to look at how many knees, i assume 4 or 5). His 4th pedal is G#'s to G.
He said the Excell had some issues that needed to be worked out (with regard to getting all 10 pedals and 13 knees funtioning correctly), and that it had been sent back to Japan for a re-work.
He was playing through a SF Fender Twin reverb which had been modded by Dan Healy.
'Sounded just like Buddy, to me!
