I wonder what ever happened to that program. It was filmed in about 1954, and in color during a time when there was no such thing as color tv. It used to be aired from Spokane during the 1980's. I watched it until amout 1989, and then it mysteriously went off the air. Does anyone remember that show?

Yes, my brother ordered a bunch of those vide tapes. I watched them over and over again. Alot of famous singers and players on those shows.

I think you can still order them from Classic Country Music store in Nashvulle, TN Winking

Thanks for the info, Terry. In '89 I recorded two VHS tapes of that show, but one tape accidentally got some stuff recorded over it, and the other one got a little hazy over the years. I might want to order some.

It sounds like you're probably referring to the Gannaway films of the Opry. I don't know where you'd go about finding them. However, here is a link to MANY country videos, including some Opry videos, as well as several concerts, etc...

These shows didn't appear to be filmed at the Ryman Auditorium...just some studio made up to look like the inside of a barn. Thanks for the link, those look great!

They were filmed at Owen Bradley's studio. Some years back they were available as a 12 DVD box set, but not anymore, and have been available as various VHS tapes too. Lot of them are on youtube now but you have to search with whoever star you want to find. Stomper Time Records has a DVD cmpilation of them ( Hillbilly Rockabillies ):
