Let me be the first to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS with my rendition of "Ave Maria."
Ave Maria
Watch the "Announcements" section in the near future for an introduction to my new Christmas album.

Magnificent.
I'll be watching for a Christmas album; I almost have one of my own from other steelers over a few years.
Mike Perlowin said I'd enjoy meeting you. Sure hope I get to someday.
Meantime, let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

Roy,
Very nice indeed. Are you playing a lap steel or PSG? It sounds like a lap steel with nice touch and even better tone.... but I'm not sure. |

Roy; I was wondering the same thing about what kind of guitar are you playing? You have done a superb job on this old standard tune. I still loved your work woth the late and great Pee Wee. It makes me feel proud that you are still promoting steel guitar, with your honest effort to keep all we forumites happy..Thanks, Roy..Looking forward to your Xmas CD. Lrt us know when it will be out.. God Bless you and Laurie..Bernie _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |

Great version of "Ave Maria". It is a beautiful song for the steel. There's another version of the song played by steel guitarist Ben Keith, who plays steel in Neil Young's band. Ben's version of the song appears on a Christmas cd known as Seven Gates.

Thanks, Guys. That was recorded on my Excel Superb S10 6+5 direct into the digital interface to my computer. I used very little pedal work on it, so it was essentially a non-pedal rendition. The background instruments were done with a MIDI keyboard, and I added about 5% artificial reverb to the steel track. My copedent can be seen here:
