Looking for the plastic "knob" or what ever you call it for the neck selector switch on a D8.
Thanks.

Hey Roy----for this switch tip you can use a Telecaster part from the same era---depending on the year of your D-8 there are two possibilites but both are available from Fender as reproduciton parts. If you want original then vintage guitar sites would be a good place to begin looking!

Thanks

Thanks to all who responded. So far all of the TELE switches have been too small for the selector switch in the D8. The one from Stewart-MacDonald looks about right, but they don't give any deminsions for the shaft size. The music store we have here only carries the small style and can't find anything else in his catalog.

Roy, it's been my experience that the newer tele replacement switch tips all have holes that are too small for the old shaft. This is a problem I've had a lot, and reaming out the hole doesn't yield good results, at least not in my experience. The only solution I know is to find an actual vintage switch tip with the hole wide enough for the Stringmaster blade . .

Hi Roy,
I think I have what you need. The ones I have are round in shape and I have three different colors, offwhite, black and brown. These came off of an old telephone switchboard and are a perfect fit for the old wide style switches. They look like the top hat switch tips on 50's tele's.Shoot me your address and I will send you one.
