Hey Roy----for this switch tip you can use a Telecaster part from the same era---depending on the year of your D-8 there are two possibilites but both are available from Fender as reproduciton parts. If you want original then vintage guitar sites would be a good place to begin looking!

| Thanks to all who responded. So far all of the TELE switches have been too small for the selector switch in the D8. The one from Stewart-MacDonald looks about right, but they don't give any deminsions for the shaft size. | Roy, it's been my experience that the newer tele replacement switch tips all have holes that are too small for the old shaft. This is a problem I've had a lot, and reaming out the hole doesn't yield good results, at least not in my experience. The only solution I know is to find an actual vintage switch tip with the hole wide enough for the Stringmaster blade . . |

Hi Roy,
I think I have what you need.The ones I have are round in shape and I have three different colors,offwhite,black and brown.These came off of an old telephone switchboard and are a perfect fit for the old wide style switches.They look like the top hat switch tips on 50's tele's.Shoot me your address and I will send you one.
