This is what was written in the Bar Chatter section under the heading of "The death of a legend" in case anyone missed it.
"The music industry and country music has lost one of it's greatest steel guitarists. Doug Campbell who's played with such greats as Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Conway Twitty, Porter Waggoner, Willie Nelson,and many others, and who also was named Best Steel Guitarist 5 times by the Oklahoma City Country Music Association, passed away Tuesday October 3rd, 2000. Doug played with our band (The City Limit Band) here in Lincoln, NE from 1995 until he was stricken with cancer in November of 1999. Doug was one of a kind and he will truly be missed.
