I just picked up a copy of the new double album by the Eagles this week "Long Road Out Of Eden" (got it at Wal-Mart). Much to my surprise, at least one (maybe two) songs have pedal steel. The one with lots of very tasty steel backup is a song featuring Timothy B. Schmit called "Do Something." The steel player is Greg Leisz. Overall, it's a great album for anybody who likes the Eagles.
The Eagles used some pedal steel on some of their earlier work (like "Best of My Love"), and I'm glad to see that they found a place for it again.
I'll be going to the Eagles concert in Orlando, FL in January, which will feature this album. I hope to see a pedal steel sitting on stage. I don't know if they will tour with a pedal steel guitarist just for one or two songs, but I can hope. _________________ Steeless. |

The Eagles also used pedal steel on a song "The Girl From Yesterday and I think it was played by former member Don Felder.
