This Saturday’s (10-11-0Cool weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and streams world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org

The theme for this week’s show was suggested by the new Les Gilliam CD (from which a cut is included) where he salutes the Hanks. The salute is to Hank Penny, Hank Thompson, Hank Snow, Hank Locklin and Hank Williams. Cuts by Penny and Thompson are actually included while a cut from one of Steve Alcott’s fine play-a-long CDs salutes Snow. Jim Garling as well as a recent cut by Thompson’s still active Brazos Valley Boys adds to his salute. Locklin is paid tribute to by steel guitarists Lynn Owsley and Bob Lucier (from Northern Steel) and from Washington State’s Gail and Denny Secord.

You will enjoy Hank Williams tribute set featuring steel guitarist Herby Wallace with the late Thumbs Carllile as well as steel guitarist Don E. Curtis and Jeff & Patricia Stone. There is also a Texas dance hall time that features Kelly Spinks, Hank Stone and steel guitarist Curt Shoemaker.

Again, the weekly edition of "Swingin' West" can be heard on line by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot toward the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com You will need to have the free Quick time downloaded on your computer.

Thank You!
