I just got my '62 Strat back after a new fret job, a fairly stressful time for me due to previous experiences with other of my guitars and the fact that this is my main instrument (6 string ).
Preston Rumbaugh, formerly bass player with Dale Watson and the Lone Stars is now doing fretted instrument repair. He's set up a shop in his home and is equipped for all kind of repairs, setups, etc.
I can't speak highly enough of the quality of this fret job. Preston's general tendency for perfection was evident from the time I delivered the guitar, asking numerous questions about how the guitar was currently setup, what should be fixed, what should be left alone.
When I picked the guitar up today I was extremely pleased. Being a player himself, Preston knew how to interpret my 'guitarese' type descriptions of what I wanted into the actual setup of the guitar. This fret job and setup are meticulous.
