I played on a Rains yesterday.Durned if it didn't sound almost as good as my GFI.(Just kidding).
Jr.Were you playing in a large club in Dallas back around 1962?
I played a one nighter there with the Miller Bros.band.I know it is going back a long way,but i remember Shady Brown being there also.
Woud you happen to know what ever became of Shady? His steel was the first i had ever seen with a pedal.Home made. Shady and i were friends here in Ft.Worth long before i went on the road for good.

Tracy, please pardon my interuption but did you by any chance play with a drummer named "Dutch" Ingram?
He came to Ft Smith, AR and played with the band I was playing with in the mid 60's and I recall he said he had been playing with the Miller Brothers band. I don't know where he went from here.

Tracy,
In 1962 I was playing a club in Dallas called Lons Twin Oaks Club..I was 13...could it have been the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas? I played there in 72. Was I playing steel?
About Shady,I may be wrong but someone told me he had died a few years back.

Tracy,
I met Shady when he was in Corpus in the '70s. What a character. I also had heard he had passed on several years back.
Shady is the guy that broke me of trying to play someone else's guitar. Tried to sit in on his axe one night....you know how small he was. Well, I am 6'2"...and couldn't even get my legs underneath the guitar.
But he could do a great job with it. Remember him playing "Beautiful Dreamer" in 3 part harmony.

Hi Gary.I heard the same thing about Shady. He was a fun guy for sure.Did you happen to know Dave Mc Bride there in CC? We went back a long way also. Was a great piano player. When i first met him in the early 70s up north he was playing in a band that did broadway musicials.
My son used to live in CC and i jammed with Dave there. Was sorry to hear he passed away a short time later.Small world, and this forum has made it much smaller.LOL.Tracy
