This Saturday’s (9-13-0 weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and simulcast world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org
The theme for this week’s show is lots of good South of the Border Western Swing. Among the sounds you will hear will be from Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys, Carolina Cotton ,The Cornell Hurd band and Dave Alexander with Hurshul Clothier from that historic Oklahoma Swing Project.
You will enjoy steel guitarists Ambrogio Gaigher from Brazil, Herb Remington from Texas and his UA years and Al Vescovo from California. There is also Bob & Johnny Boatright, Dan Roberts, Rance Norton and Ray Sanders.
There is so much more including a Western Concert with Trails & Rails and Way Out West. There is also from Texas a cut by Jerry Webb and one by Ginny Mac. The closing theme is done by the late Frankie McWhorter.

This Saturday’s (9-20-0 weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and simulcast world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org
The theme for this week’s show is Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue. The show will open with a group of something old with Bob Wills, Tommy Duncan & the Texas Playboys, Steel legend Speedy West and Kenny Roberts. Then there is something new by Kathy D. Baker, Switzerland’s Rhythm Train and cuts by steel player Rick Alexander with his wife and steel/fiddler Milo Deering with his wife.
You will enjoy Kathy and Marv Reitz’s talented daughter Miss Tess borrowing from Jazz, Houston’s Wild River Band borrowing from Gene Autry/Smiley Burnette and Carolyn Martin borrowing from the late Red Foley. There are also steel guitarists Jim Cohen (instrumentally) and Don Sulesky (steel and vocal) doing blue songs.
There is so much more including a Western Concert with yodeling by young Grace-Anne Elliott, Colorado Swing by the Yampa Valley Boys and an old standard by Bobby Wayne. The closing theme is done by Texas Sand.

I will not be able this Saturday to listen to it as I'll be involved celebrating our 6th FSGC anniversay.
