Firefox vs Internet Explorer

Another stupid question.

When I come to the forum, if I'm using FF, those little "sails" that turn yellow and quiver in the left-hand margin, always seem to be right-on with FF.

But when I use IE, they are DEAD - no yellow; no movement - just ugly white; empty; no indication of what's been going on.

After all, that was their intention, no?

Just aimlessly wonderin'...
