Look for a round battery about an inch in length. It's the same battery that was used on old PC's. It's been a long time since I've been inside a Profex II and don't remember where the battery is.
Since you are in the UK it would probably be too much to send it to Ken Fox in the US but you can contact Ken about getting the "Batteryless" chip modification and installing it yourself. You need to take care of the problem and hopefully the battery has not leaked as it can cause damage to the printed circuit board. |

It should be repaired ASAP. If the battery leaks or has already leaked there could be printed circuit damage. Best to get it taken care of before major damage occurs.
One note, when the battery is replaced your user programs will be gone. You will have to reload your user programs. |

If you've ordered the "batteryless" mod kit, it is very easy. You have to remove the battery and replace one IC with the new one you will get. I haven't seen the kit that Ken has but I would assume it will come with directions and a picture of the circuit board showing the location of the battery and IC.
But, this is the best option and it permanently solves the problem. |

I just ordered a batteryless mod from Ken. It was an easy installation. It was shipped expediently and the transaction was seamless. That is what we expect from Ken. The included instructions were easy to understand. I had a question which was handled quickly by email.
I agree that the battery should be gone. Be sure to inspect the circut board for leakage and damage. _________________ Ellis Miller
