I just returned from a local music store where they had a vintage Gibson lap steel that they couldn't (or hadn't tried to) identify. Ithad a gold plastic handrest over the pickup with a swirly design in black, gold tone/vol knobs and was priced at $900.

Oops, never mind. Didn't realize I was in the 'no-pedals' department... Carry on, folks...

no. It wasn't a console and it had hips similar to those Rondo steels.

that's the one! That link says it was only available for one year? Why?

Is $900 a good price?

James,

The BR4 was produced without binding, single bound and double bound. It doesn't usually bring more than $500 with an original case except the double bound model, which I think is the least common. It was replaced by the BR6, which had a one piece control plate/hand rest.

The BR4 and BR6 differ only in appearance.
