I spent the afternoon with Merle last Tuesday and had a real good visit. I also got to visit with Norm for a little while and listened to his new steel CD on my way home. It's full of the classic sounds of Norm's playin'. I think its a great cd and he is playing great on it. Thanks Norm. Sure wish I could be in St. Louis this year when he is inducted into the Steel Hall Of Fame. I believe its been a long time coming but I'm just glad he is getting in this year. I forgot to mention Norm said he would have his cd for sale at the convention.

Norm said when he got back home from this tour he would post all the info here on the forum. I think this tour is over on the 16th so he should be home a few days later. For those of you lucky enough to get to go to the convention this year Norm will be there and have some with him. You will enjoy his cd I'm sure. ESnow |

Without buying Merle's boxset is there anywhere to find the albums the Strangers did some years back? |

Craig;
your best bet is probably eBay (they pop up there from time to time: that's where I snagged most of mine), or any time in your travels you come across a record store - stop in and start flippin' through that vinyl _________________ Head full of this kaleidoscope of brain-freight, Heart full of something simple and slow

I'm pretty sure Norm also told me that all of the Strangers albums are going to be remastered for Cd. I have 4 of the Strangers LP's but I would like have all of them when they get them on CD. I think Norm said they did 6 albums. I will find out for sure next time I talk to him. ESnow |

Eddie,
Has Norm's induction been announced? I thought the fact that he's scheduled to play Saturday afternoon was a strong hint, but I have not read anything officaial.
Glad you got to catch Hag's latest tour and visit with Norm. Unfortunately, his Cincinnati stop was cancelled and he played that night in Knoxville instead.
I'll catch up with Norm in St. Louis.

The Strangers albums are included in the Bear Family box set, "Concepts, Live & The Strangers."
Disks 5 & 6 include all the tracks from all the albums, (as Greg listed, below,) plus a few more un-released tracks. I've never heard them with this clarity! Very cool! _________________ My best,

I talked to Norm last night and Ernie is right, all the stranger albums are included in the Bear Family Box set along with alot of live concert cuts. I have 4 of the 5 Stranger's LPs but I hope to have the box set soon.
Norm said he will post info on how to order his new cd when he gets home, he will only be home about a week then He and his wife are heading for St. Louis.
Ron, I didn't know there hasn't been an offical announcment and maybe I shouldn't have said anything about it so lets just hope he is inducted this year and leave it at that.
I hope lots of steelers order his cd or pick up a copy at the convention, like I said he is playing great, great tunes and I think you will really enjoy it. Eddie Snow |

Does anyone have the "HonkyTonkin With the Strangers" Album?
I've tried to get a copy and no-one has it, that I know. I spoke to Norm and he said that his copy burned up in a garage fire. _________________ Ray Harrison

Terje, the Amazon link above isn't the best price on the web. I found it at a different site for a lot less, but I can't remember the name of the site right now. _________________ Patrick |
