Dwight,
I have two Williams U12 keyless guitars . One is aluminum neck with a single coil pup, the other a wood neck with a humbucker. They are different and I like them both a lot. Which goes to show that the options are a matter of taste. The quality is good whatever you choose.
I like laquer finishes and the new formula Bill is using seems to resist damage very well.String breakage is more or less history.
I would recommend the wide body size which is between double and traditional single. I find it the most comfortable body type to sit at and to carry.
Before these two guitars I had a D-10 Williams, so for me Williams has worked really well. I`ve had 3 Buds,2 Emmonses,a Mullen and a Zum before but somehow the Williams has fit my body and ears the best. _________________ Olli Haavisto

Dwight, I have a U12 Williams keyless and I never change the strings except maybe once a year. I've had this guitar for 5 or 6 years and as I've said before on here, if I won the lottery, I would buy two more because their so good. The finish is as good as anything I've ever seen and I used to be a wood worker interested in that sort of thing. Larry _________________ U12 Williams keyless 400

Hi Dwight, I did some homework and asked a lot of questions before placing my Williams order. Mine should be delivered at the end of October. There's plenty of information on the Forum, mostly good. Possibly the best advice I got was to find someone who has one and give it a test drive. (thanks Stan) Click the link below and have a look at some gorgeous guitars.

Which Williams are you looking to get? I am looking to get an SD12 keyless. How long did they say it would take on yours and what features are you adding? I am excited about this steel. I really like the way they look and" from what the website states" the price for all of the features you get.

Dwight, I ordered a birdseye maple SD-10 600 with 4 on the floor and 5 knees during the second week of August. Bill told me my guitar was the last in line for the current batch and should be delivered on 10/31. He said he expected some new orders at the convention in St. Louis. You may want to get on it, so you can get in on that batch. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

It's entirely a matter of personal preference, but when I'm playing my SD-10 (400 Series), I rest my right arm on the back side of the pad, and it's a very comfortable angle for me. I haven't tried the "Wide Body", but it seems the part of the pad I'm actually using would be missing.
And the full-size SD-10 is outstandingly light anyway. |

Hey Olli, I agree, the Wide body is also my choice. The wide body is only 2 and 3/16 inches narrower than a D-10. The leg stance is the same so the stability is the same as a D-10. |

John thinks my playing has improved since I have had my Williams. Talk to Bill today and ordered some parts, he is so nice to talk to.

Brint, The width of the pad on the Williams wide body is 2 and 1/2 inches. I find this pad very comfortable...I'm very glad that I ordered it when I purchased my Williams Series 600...it is a great addition |
