Kay Das is always pushing the steel guitar repertoire envelope. Here is another of his finds. It works well on the steel!
Here's Kay to tell you more:

Every once in a blue moon there appears a "chicken skin" tune also called by some a "goose-pimple" tune..... "Hawaii 78" was one that had once that effect on me. "Conquest of Paradise", from the movie of the same name, is another and I have here created a steel guitar version of it. The movie was made in 1992, 500 years after Christopher Columbus' epic voyage. Originally composed by Vangelis, the backing here is credited to my friend Tony Kiek of Sydney in Australia. It was recorded from a 12-track midifile stored in a Yamaha PSR3000 keyboard/synth/arranger. I used two steel guitars for the lead: a MSA Classic XL C6th neck and a West Coast C6th lap steel (into a Fender Stage 160 amplifier and a Fender HotRoad amplifier respectively). Key of Dmin/DMaj. |

Nice job, Kay.
Any music that Vangelis did or does is a favorite of mine and you did this so well on the steel. You'll have to include it in your next CD.

Wally, your order taken...hope to make it to Joliet..
Response to an e-mail query: there were three steel tracks: pedal steel "low", pedal steel "high" and lap steel.
