My 12 year old grandson Francesco played in his first talent contest. It was at the Milton Steam Era at the Milton, Ontario fairgrounds on Saturday.

http://www.steam-era.com/

He came in 3rd winning $50. There were 19 contestants (various acts, but mostly country vocals). He played the Steel Guitar Rag on the lap steel in E Major tuning. The winners have an option to play another tune, so he played Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain. There were about a thousand people in the grandstand. He was a very happy boy.

Watch out Basil Henriques!!!!!!
