Hello all,

I'm looking for some help in ID-ing a friend's Original Duolian made by Dobro. Here is his description:

Quote:
"There are two sets of Numbers. One is on the back of the Headstock (it is a white stick on label) #59096. The other is stamped on the top of the Head and it is; 8 1139 3B

This is a Original Duolian by Dobro; Slothead Metal bodied(Palm Tree and Island Scene) sandblasted with biscuit bridge and a screen on bridge guard. It has the covered side tuners. Truss rod cover is white plastic with the name Dobro stamped in it.

Other than sound so sweet I know very little about it.

I'm assuming this might be a 90's instrument, but I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated.

Hi John,

I think that means it's instrumemnt # 1139 made of metal ("B", D=wood) in 1983 ("8..." and "...3").

I get surprised with myself, possessing such info in my brain - my excuse is it must derive from checking the number of my own 1976 squareneck Dobro (ending "6D", but without an "8" prefix). Wink

Fred
