Hello Ya`ll.
Together with steel fellow Dag Wolf, we are both going to the Dallas show in march, and will play a set together. We have not played USA since St.Louis in 2008, so we are looking forward to play there together for the first time. But since this is also a 10 days holiday tour, starting out in LA, visiting with JayDee, and touring a little bit around in CA, I hesitate to bring my own steel to play a few songs in Dallas! Overweight and all that stuff in addition to the regular luggage. So question is, are there anyone of you guys going to Dallas that maybe has a steel I can use for this set? I am normally high, so use the `long`legs on my steel. My set up is quite normal Emmons, and the kneelevers something like this.
LKL raise 4 & 8
LKR raise 1& 2 a whole tone + 7
Also got a LKL front that lower the 3rd, but can do without this.
LKvertical lower 5th
RKR lower the 2nd half and whole tone +9,but can do fine without the 9th.
RKL lowers the 4 & 8
I use a Zumsteel today, but also had an Emmons LeGrande III before that.I guess setup is more important then the brand!
If you plan to be there and have a steel that match, please let me know! We will probably arrive in Dallas on thursday that weekend.
Regards,
Egil

Barring the outside, (extra LKL) that's probably the second most popular knee configuration with an Emmons pedal set-up. Shouldn't be too hard to find a donor. Find that. Then borrow Tommy Dodd's legs and pedal rods and you'll feel right at home.

Enjoy your trip to the states.

Chiming in on what BB said, whatever you need, there is always a mecha-nic at Dallas that can make those configuration changes to any guitar.

Actually, Bobby Boggs should come to the show, too.

Cheers!

Egil my setup is pretty much like that and I have borrowed Dave Beaty's Infinity D10 (Telonics) ... it's a great guitar, if you get stuck it might be worth having a chat to Dave Very Happy
It is standard height though

Egil, as Paddy suggests, you are most welcome to use my D-10 8+8 Infinity if you wish. It has almost exactly the pedal and lever set-up you describe - with the exception of the 7th string change. However if you should wish to use the guitar, we will be glad to add that pull if you will let us know in time to add the rod before we leave for Texas. It is standard height, however the back legs can be raised - if that would help.

I must warn you that it was just used by Lynn Owsley to close the SWSGA show in Arizona and he seems to have left a great many of his E.T. licks on it.
Sometimes it will play the take-off to "Half A Mind" practically of its own accord.....

Just let us know your wishes at your convenience Egil.

It is also supplied with a Telonics pedal and one of the new Telonics amplifiers.
Dave

Hello
Gee, what can I say.The steel guitar family really are a bunch of the nicest people! Yes, I will get in touch well ahead of the show when we have decided what songs to play, then I know more exactly if I need a kneelever, or not for that song. Thank you so much for your replies so far,it has been a long time since we played St.Louis the last time,in 2008, so it will be nice to see you again.I guess I have met with some of you there before.
Best from
Egil.
