I have two single coil p/ups that came (separate to..)with my 1970 Emmons D10. I can only assume these were the original pick-ups. Currently my steel is fitted with E66's, but am toying with the idea to try the single coil on the E9th neck.
The Ohm reading is 15.20 on the one, and the other reads 15.69. Are these readings correct, and if so which one should go on the E9th neck?
Appreciate any help I can get.
Regards,
Nic

Nic, You probably won't hear the difference between the two, but the pup with the smaller reading would probably be the brighter sounding of the two. So use the one that will get the sound you're looking for. I'm guessing that for that era Emmons pup, they should have a black and white top plate on them.

Hi Jerry,
You're right.....W/B/W for the top plate.(looking from the top you will see black first....it's W/B/W looking from the side.
I was just concerned that the ohm reading may be too low.....or is it about right?

Regards,
Nic

Nic, they are not too low and will sound great on a push pull, nothing better in my opinion. I would use the lower number on E9th but they are so close I don't think you could hear the difference either way.

Thanks Jerry,
I'm about to put new strings on, so I'll slip the P/up in and let you know the result. Smile

Nic
