This PSG is 15 minutes away from me. My research indicates that it may be a great deal. Would it be appropriate for a PSG Newbie?

Nice guitar, but the one in the picture is a Emmons Legrande SKH. I dont know if they was just putting that picture there for show, but that not a LL3, anyway though, I would get if, but not for $3000-$5000. Also it does not have the Humbucking pickups in it, it has wallace TT.

Watch out for the "too good to be true" scenario, But if the seller's on the up and up, that's a great deal for that guitar. It has a value of $2,000 or more on the market, if in great shape.

Due to the presence of this thread, I'd say several people have already attempted to snag it.

Very Fishy. If he needs cash and knows the value, why would he advertise such a low price?

$2K OBO would be more like it, even if he actually sold it for $700 cash.

If it's stolen, and you buy it, you lose everything if the owner proves it's his.

Joey, I'd say you're right on the money.

Keep in mind, as well, that the date of the CL posting is June 30th. So his motive for a quick sale is not supported by the time lapse.

If the guitar is so close, it's definitely worth the drive to check it out.

If a picture could actually smell, this one would be it. Shocked

15 minutes away? (Sun City->Alma School/Baseline?) You drive a dragster and have the highway patrol clear the freeways? (They have those now in Phoenix but folks fought 'em like the plague as recently as the 80s. "Not in my eternally-appreciating back yard"...)

Good for you b0b......you sold a set. Very Happy

Not if you stay outside the 33% minimum of the actual value limit. That value limit varies from day to day.I have LLG's seen come and go for as low as $1500.
Besides.....this guitar is not really a young pup anymore.
Collectors value and personal value has nothing to do with the actual value when it comes to court. It is trade value.
Go to a pawnshop and trade in a LLG and see what you are offered.....that is the trade value.

How ever......I have to agree with the rest everyone has said here. This deal smells so bad that I can smell it over here.

The Seller emailed me... "Sold"!

Apparently, the lucky, local Purchaser has said... "I beat everyone to it! It needs some work but, it was a great deal!"

Also, Austin was partially correct...

It is a 'parts' guitar and has parts from both of the instruments that Austin mentioned. It has been sold and it was not missing any $100 parts, but one of the pickups was apparently "dead"(?) and needs re-winding or something.

The local rumor mill has it that there is no indication that it was stolen (at least recently). The history of the instrument (and the parts) is very shady however!

So... Another "Too good to be true", huh?

I did appreciate the feed back from everyone. It will all assist me greatly in my pursuit of an affordable, quality PSG.

Thanks to all,

Johnne Lee
