Just got this email
Hello fellow players,
Bobbe had an accident with a table saw around 1 PM Central. He was taken to Hendersonville Hospital Emergency Room where it was determined that he needed to be sent downtown to a better equiped hospital.
At this point, we know that he has lost a large amount of blood. Other than that, we are waiting for more information which we will post to the newsletter as we get it.
Steel Guitar Nashville will be closed until further notice.
Again, we will post information on his condition as we get it. _________________ Derby SD-10 4&5 Black!(duh)/

This is terrible news I cut the end of my left hand pinkie and nicked a tendon half-way through years ago. I had surgery and regained 90% of my flexibility but I was in a splint for 3 months. It sucked big time! I can only hope Bobbe's injury is no worse than what I experienced. _________________ Primitive Utility Steel |

I just talked to Bobbe and he's hanging in there. The saw got the same old ring finger he had a problem with before. He thinks he might lose some of it but they're gonna' make the decision in the next hour. He's hooked up to the wall with blood IV and of course some other stuff. He's in a fair mood but of course he's worried about the finger. Lost a lot of blood but he's recovering rather quickly. Still joking me so I'm praying hard and loud he'll come out of it OK. I'll let you know as soon as I hear more.

Thanks for the info Fred. I was telling my wife about this awhile ago; I was imagining something worse, of course this is bad enough. Please tell Bobbe I'm praying for him. I broke the bone, back of my right little finger, at an angle a few years ago and it was a lot of work getting it back. I'm grateful that the good 'ol US Navy fixed it for me. |

Bobbe you know we are all pulling for you and hope the injury does not cause you to lose the talent you have on the steel. I can't help but think you got a little careless cause you were thinking about the loss of Don.. Man what a sad thing.
Get better. Stay intact....... |

I was with Bobbe when this happened. He was cutting up 5/16" metal inlay strips for front apron trim. The first batch cut easily enough but the second batch just exploded as the blade hit it! Bobbe is very lucky to be alive, trust me. I drove him to the ER as fast as possible and as Fred said, he was joking all the way there, and then with the nurses. His doctor was examining him as I left the room, but Bobbe said that he has feeling in all of the fingers that were intact before the accident, and he said he was in very little pain, medication notwithstanding, so thats all good news. Im sure that Danny and Larry will, or may have already posted more on Bobbe's condition so lets keep him in our prayers.
