Live from the Nevada County Fair, local radio staion KVMR (89.5 FM, or kvmr.org) will be webcasting two northern CA steel players.
On Sat. 8/9 12:00-1:00 PDT fellow forumite Steve Epstien will be playing with the retro country band Rowdy Kate. Can't wait to see this band, I've heard many great things about them. One cut I heard was Tammy's "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad".... and boy howdy, these pickers do the original justice!
Sat. 8/9 8:00-10:00 I will be playing western and swing with the 8 piece (twin fiddles) band The Stardust Cowboys. Doing tons of Bob Wills, and some really nice western style originals (think the Sons... and not of Champlin ).
Sun. 8/10 5:00-6:00 I will be filling in for fellow forumite Pete Grant, with the fun-filled band Cousin Cricket. I've just met these guys, but what top caliber pickers they are! If you've got a good sense of humor, and a love for well arranged swing music, you are going to love this band. Great up-beat originals, blended with good old honky tonk songs (like "Pick Me On Your Way Down", and a couple of Wille songs too).
If you're in the area, please do stop by, if your in the radio area, tune in 89.5, if you're further away, go to kvmr.org for the streaming audio. _________________ Dave Wren
