Buck Ried & Lyle Lovett in LA

So - we saw Lyle Lovett and the Large Band last night at the Orpheum here in LA. Incredible 2-hour set. The band was unbelievably tight...and HUGE. And Buck Reid was perfect in every way. Lyle's band doesn't allow for extended solos (thank you...), and Buck hit every one of his just right. And the stuff he laid down under everything else was so tasty. It was also a treat to see Mitch Watkins on guitar - bringing back memories from Austin and the Jazzmanian Devils! And Russ Kunkel on drums - save me!

All I can saw is Wow!
