FYI:
I just noticed this old doubleneck showbud on Craigslist (Florida) this morning. See url below. I have no idea who is selling it but thought that someone here might be interested. There is a contact phone number in the ad.
(I didn't post under "For sale" since I am not the person selling it. That being said, just exercise any caution that you normally would when looking to buy something long distance.)

Incorrect pegheads, little information, and unclear photos = caveat emptor.

Latin lesson: "buyer beware."

i'd think a best offer of $400 might come out ok, just for parts. did some of these come with just 5 pedals?

Maybe. But apparently Ron has offered at least $2250.

This is a Sho-Bud Dual Neck Pedal Steel in good condition, I think it's a 60's model but not sure. has extra pedals and is tuned for E9th and C6th.

I didn't see that Herb....but now that you mentioned it they are incorrect.

Chris the parts (if in good shape) are worth a lot more then just $400.The tail pieces, pedal bar, pedals and end-plates alone go well over a $1000.The seller states that it has extra pedals.
If someone offers me a set of parts like that for $400 I will take um with my eyes closed.

The only things I recognize as Sho-Bud are the fretboards and pedals, but I'm no expert on older models. I don't see a logo anywhere either, and it has a gimpy rear leg - (damaged endplate?) Opinions?

Might not even be a Shobud. There were guitars made that were really similar. Some of them have shown up on threads here. I remember one with keyheads that looked just like that. I'd want to look under it too. Nice old axe though. Wish the pics were higher rez.

    Tail pieces
    pedal bar
    fretboards

On thing comes to mind though.Didn't those "Miller" steel guitars look similar to the permanent Sho-Bud's at one time?
This could be one of them.If it is a "Miller" then I suggest to the seller to hand the buyer the money instead of asking it.Laughing

So are we saying this might be better used as a boat anchor?

No! Just not worth as much as a Shobud.
