Many will recommend the Caig Faderlube. I was advised a while back by a relatively prominent studio console technician, Bud Wyatt, to strictly avoid the spray cleaner and lube products, including this one and the other Caig or similar products. He said they work in the short run, but in the long run, they attract dirt and gum up and become worse. His recommendation for carbon pots like those in the Peavey is to clean with anhydrous (100%) isopropyl alcohol, and then just the tiniest drop of turbine or sewing machine oil to help lube the track a bit. Turbine or sewing machine oil is about the purest and cleanest lube there is, and attracts dirt the least.
On conductive plastic pots like in nicer mix consoles, home stereo, and studio gear, he said just use the 100% alcohol and clean it as the conductive plastic is self-lubricating.
For years I used the Caig Deoxit and Faderlube stuff, and I discovered that while it seemed amazing at first, within a year or 2, the problems came back even worse. He said purely clean and dry is best, and only lube if necessary, ie. carbon pots.
So far his advice is proving to be good.
