Sitting here at lunchtime with a picture of John over my shoulder on the wall. It always reminds me of the record that John let Conway have a little time on. There are not many plays on the site (about 80)and is about the only one on the web with which to hear it. Thought you might enjoy.

Thanks for posting RC. I think of John most every day. Such a wonderful player and person may never walk this earth again. John was one of a kind.

Thanks R.C. it was great to hear again. I agree Jim, you have to go a long way to meet a finer Gentleman.
I've recently started playing in a band that is a Conway Twitty tribute group and I get top make an attempt at playing like Poppa John did. I'm honored to have known him and I hope I'm doing his music justice.

I miss him every day also. I bought a few of his albums and the tab books to go with him so I can get a better insight to his style of playing. I will admit that I cuss him out on occasion when I'm learning his C6th stuff. His style gets me all tangled up in my underwear. What a great player and person.

Please remember that his wife Jean is still selling his products to help keep his legacy alive. We need to remember her as well as John.

I have a page on my website entitled "In Memory of John Hughey. It has a lot of John's videos and MP3s furnished by Bill Ferguson. Here's the link directly to that page:

Beautiful Mr. Roy. Thank you for dedicating that site to one of my, and our greatest hero's. I would also thank Bill Ferguson for all the great videos he has provided. Bill is also a great steel player and I consider him up on the top of the list.

I have heard a rumor (haven't been able to confirm it) that when Vince finished cutting "Look At Us" in the studio he said that John's chorus was the second best he had ever heard. John asked, it is said, "What was the first?" Vince reportedly answered "Lost In The Feeling."

My personal favorite by John is "Sweet Memories."
