Cool!
Just for the record, though...it's not from a 78 RPM record. According to his discography, it's a cut from an album recorded in 1970 (and the record number on the "78records" website bears that out). |

James Cotton is great.....but I agree w/ Donny. This just does not sound like a 78 recording. There is too much seperation between the instruments, the guitar tone is too contemporary and the vocal reverb is more subtle than is usual for 78 rpm recording era. |

Capitol record ST-814 is a 1971 release. The "ST" in a Capitol number indicates "stereo".
Cotton only did 2 or 3 releases on 78's. |

I agree, John. My point wasn't to argue, I care mainly about the music, too. But, I also care about the associated information we all post here. Some people take offense to that, and if that's the case, I apologize. |

Non taken Donny! I just listened to the tune, and by the title of the site, figured it was from a 78. The catalogue numbers weren't what I was interested in. Although, I probably should find out more about that kind of info. I'm planning on putting my fairly large collection of Hawaiian music (300 or so 78s) online one of these days.
Where does one go to find this type of info? |
