Well, I had a wonderful time, as did my son. We saw very little evidence of steel guitar at all while wandering, but you know what? We were in Paris!
When we got on the RER train that runs from Charles DeGaulle airport to downtown Paris, there was a man playing an old Stroh violin in the train. It had a very interesting sound, like a resophonic violin.
We heard a lot of interesting music (mostly accordion based), but saw no resophonic or steel guitars at all. We did all the touristy things - Eiffel Tower, Catacombs, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Louvre - and walked our legs off.
I'm happy to be back, but would go back any time. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
