Don,

Try again tomorrow because the host I use is free so they limit the number of daily plays.

I guess I could fork over the $6.95 per month to get more plays if I wasn't so cheap.

Heck Dick, I was looking for the slot to stick a couple of bucks in so I could hear it... Very Happy Very Happy

Has anyone heard if David made it ok to Texas? I'll bet he's running around trying to get everything he can accomplished before it's time to head on back.

Very Happy Rolling Eyes
Dick; I, too, am sorry to have missed your version of " Way To Survive ". Always look forward to your clips.
Don, no, I haven't heard a word from any one at the Dallas Show; I'm wondering, too, about how David is doing there at the show. He, also is one of my favorites, when it comes to good, home-spun country steel guitar pickin. Can't wait for all these big show goers to get back home and let us in on all the fun times they had in Dallas; hopefully, a few good pics.. Thanks..Bernie Whoa! Smile Rolling Eyes

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the slow response but I've had the Flu since Monday and it's been kicking my tail really bad.

I haven't had anything like this since the early 1980's and it would hit me right when the Steel Guitar Show was to begin.

I haven't heard anything but I'm sure all is well and everyone will have a great time.

Looks like my Temp broke yesterday and if it stays down like it has I plan to go and look around Saturday.

Bernie,

There is a limited daily number of plays so try the next day as it resets every day.

Dick, & Bernie, sorry to hear about you two not feeling too good at this time. Hope you both get feeling better real soon.

OK! Concerning the link in your above and it not working correctly. I simply had to find out what was wrong, since when I copied and pasted it into my browser's window it worked fine. And you have it written out correctly.

However I noticed that when you highlite it, it is not as it appears to be. Here is what takes place when you highlite it. The Underscore jumps across to being underneath of TRACK as well as the other Underscores, so they become this:

/01 Track 1 3.mp3

Needless to say, it appears that the link is (so to speak) Broken.

So Dick, you might want to edit that and try to correct it.

Get well soon,
Don

Don,

The link is direct when you click on it so you shouldn't have to highlight and paste it into the browser window.

I just clicked on it to see if it acted funny and it worked fine.

I'm no computer wiz so I have no better explaination except don't highlight and paste just click on the blue link and listen.

Dick, this is a strange one for certain. I can copy it and paste it and it works fine everytime. But when I click on the link directly here is what I get each and every time. However! Not using IE, but using AOL, I do.

Payment Required

Please contact the server administrator, customerservice@zoomshare.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Really is weird. But when I copy the link and past it and then highlite it, the underscores jump across to the wrong places. Weird or what? Of course we all know AOL is what is definitely weird anyway! Very Happy Very Happy

It works fine with IE, so it must be an AOL thing.

PS: Real nice job done on the song..

PS:2 I was wrong. It doesn't work clicking on it in IE either. However when I copy it, then paste it, it works fine.

Whoa! Whoa!
Hi Don; My computer is doing the same as yours; brings up that page telling me " Payment Required", blah,blah,blah.. I'm not familiar with that pasting routine, which you spoke of doing. I did want to hear Dick's version so badly [ or should that be " So goodly ] Right, Dick.
Thanks, Don, for your " WELL " wishes. I, too, hope Dick is coming along O.K. Did you get over to the Dallas Show, Dick?? Bernie Rolling Eyes Cool Very Happy

Bernie,

Send me an email, and I'll send you back a working link... Something about that link that this forum simply doesn't like..

I've never had problems with any other links, but I did the short version on it here, and it still didn't work.

Just place your Cursor on the link, and then "RIGHT" Click, then select COPY SHORTCUT.

Now go up top and "RIGHT CLICK" inside the Browser Window, and Click on PASTE.

Then hit the Enter key, and it should bring it up ok, because it won't using the forum.

Let me know if you can get it doing it that way..

Don Brown, Thanks, your way of accessing the web page worked. Thanks!

Dick, that was awesome! Great tone, great balance great picking. It had the goosebump factor. Your best one yet!

A great tune too. That is one of Jeff's courses. Was that Bob Browning singing?

Dick; yes, with Don's help; I, too finally got to listen to your latest song; you really do a grand job, Dick. I love your style of playing.
Bent, are those track sessions from Jeff Newman's Music web Site very costly. I've never priced them. That Bob Browning does a fine job on those vocals.
Keep up the good work, Dick..Bernie Very Happy Rolling Eyes

Bernie, I am not sure about the cost of these tracks. A quick call to Fran would give you your answer. She is a great lady to deal with.

I am not even sure about the singer, all I meant was that it sounded like Bob Browning to me. Bob used to sing on all of Jeff's instructional material pre-1980

Hi Bernie,

Well I am feeling better compared to last week. I got lucky and my fever went down a couple of days before the show and even though I still felt pretty bad I was able to go,look around and meet some new friends.

This is the first time I ever walked out of the show without buying something but I am considering a new guitar sometime in the near future.

Bob Browning did the vocals on Way To Survive. Jeff also used Ernie Row (sp) and one other guy but I can't think of his name at the minute.

Bernie, I'm doing ok thanks. I had a flu shot last fall and that seems to do the trick for me. I get nothing worse than a cold now.

Otherwise, I am trying to stay busy learning new stuff. There is so much I would love to learn. Right now I am learning a bit about digital recording and also trying to master BIAB. Plus, trying to put in some time each day on the steel. But learning comes slower as I get older. Anybody else have the same problem?

Thanks for asking, Bernie.

Dick thanks for info re Bob Browning. I always liked his voice. To me he had a lot of Jim Reeves in him, and Jim's always been my idol. I talked to Bob once at Jeff's school. That was 1978.

Does anybody know what Bob is doing these days?

I wish that Dick would post his version of "Way To Survive" I would really like to add it to my "Dick Wood Collection" of great hits. I have 3 so far.

1. Pass Me By
2. I Don't Think I'll Fall In Love Today
3. The Wild Side Of Life

I hope that the list will continue to grow. In the short time that I have know him (a couple of years), he has grown to be one of my Heroes! A GREAT Man in my book! Very Happy
