Here's a cool little recording of Rag Mop, by Jesse James and All The Boys, featuring Joaquin. This is a pretty raw recording, and Joaquino's not at his absolute best, but he lays down a few interesting triplet figures in an interesting lick. His sound is raw, as well. Don't have any info on this recording, but it came courtesy of my buddy Goofus.

| Mike, I'm pretty sure that's NOT Joaquin but a Texas steeler whose name escapes me. He was the author of Rag Mop. There was an article on him in Jesse Morris' Western Swing Journal about him and I have it buried somewhere in my files so I can't get a quick and definitive answer. |

That's interesting--that would explain why it just doesn't quite stand up with Joaquin's best. Anyway, I'll post up Swinging On The Steel, aka Joaquin Special, by the same group when I get a chance.
