I just saw a classic re-run with David & Howard, the Bellamy Brothers on RFD. The show looked to be at least 20 years. The Steel player had long hair and a mostasch. He was playing a Rosewood Emmons D-10 P/P. Did anyone else see the show and recognise who he was.

That sounds like Danny Jones from Auburndale, FL who passed away some time ago. He was with them on their original recordings (Sugar Daddy, You Ain't Just Whistlin Dixie and others) and on the road too, and he matches the description you gave. Very good player too. He frequented the same steel shop I hung out at here in Lakeland, FL in the early 80's.

yes, I saw it as well and it was Danny Jones. A fine player, he played on "....Beautiful Body" too if I recall correctly. Very nice tone and intonation on all his cuts. I was sorry to hear when he passed away. We met him up in Mpls. years ago at the Carlton I think. Mighty nice fellow. Clem might've even brought him over to his shop on Lake St. to hang out in the daytime before the show.

Nick, club member Connie Burton has Danny's SD-10 JCH Guitar.

I don't remember if Connie was at one of the club jams when you were down here.

Dannie was a great player it was an amazing experience to play together.
Dannie loved the pedal steel with a never ending passion and played for hours a day when not on the road.
I wish I could find the rosewood Emmons Dannie used that was the first gtr I was ever shown any licks on and that with his playing started my love and appreciation for the steel gtr.

Really appreciate you folks enjoying his playing, Take Care.

For a nice Bio on Dannie Jones go to Google and type in Danny Jones, Steel Guitar. I always enjoyed his fills on If I Said you had a Beautiful Body. Another great Steeler that has left us.
