Who knows what this one is? On ebay.
Presented for sale to the connoisseur of such an item is a TRIPLE NECK LAP STEEL GUITAR with ORIGINAL CASE, MADE IN THE EARLY 1950'S and UNQUESTIONABLY MADE IN THE USA. This guitar is STELLAR QUALITY and is made out of SOLID MOHOGANY. She weighs in at 17 Pounds! As with all my auctions this was FOUND from an ESTATE. The elderly lady said her husband bought this new and has owned it ever since. She's a one owner and has NOT seen the marketplace since it was new. It's 100% ORIGINAL, PLAYS GREAT and has NO ISSUES. As always this GUITAR IS UNTOUCHED by me. Only one question remains...WHAT COMPANY MADE THIS GUITAR? HELP. In my goings about I've NEVER SEEN ANOTHER, EVER. It's certain it's an extremely RARE guitar, possibly custom made...probably UNIQUE.

I agree with HowardR, but I've never seen one just like it before. |

Looks like three National New Yorker bodies joined at the hip, with the usual white stripes colored red instead. Matching red insignia on the pegheads? Can barely make out the fingerboards, but they look like they could be National or Supro fingerboards with split parallelogram or totem pole fret markers, under clear plexiglass, instead of the recessed Roman numerals on a New Yorker? Mix of features from 40's and 50's? |

Although I haven't seen a specific catalog listing, etc. of this model, I'll betcha it's an original National from the late '30s. (Look at the case handle.) The Empire State Building motif was already being used by then on single-necks. |

I'd say built by National, possibly branded for some other company. Or an owner-modified National.
