That's a regional train in Austria. The trains in Europe are very symphonic.

Here's another one, possibly the same type, different color, and the scale is much fainter in volume: train scale
If these are undoctored, how does this happen? It seems to be a mode starting on the 3rd degree of the scale (phyrigian?) |

The rail system in Europe is VERY efficient and vast. Each network within each country has it's own specific set of tones it uses for things like stops, announcements from the crew, etc. It's not accidental, pardon the pun.
Yes Don, some of the trains go stupid fast. I do about 80% of my travels in Europe by train. I love it. I was on an ICE train in Germany one time that was doing 367 kilometers per hour (they have a monitor that shows the current speed)! They only have major crashes about once every ten years or so, but when they do, they're dusies! _________________ Scott Shipley Facebook |

You can travel from the northern tip of Scotland to the southern tip of Italy all by train (Eurostar provides passenger service through the "chunnel"), and MUCH cheaper than driving. I even have a discount card that gets me 50% off all my tickets.
