This CD is a Hawaiian-styled tribute to the music of The Eagles by Greg Leisz. The site has samples of each track.

Interesting overall and that he hooked up with Jim West who does some fine work on his own CDs. This pretty laid back, not sure I could handle the entire CD at that pace.

Man, I'm not a fan of the Eagles by any stretch of the imagination, but Greg Leisz is so good and I trust his choices so that I'd probably have to buy it. Thanks for bringing it to light.

And who's the steel player on this one?

According to this eBay auction the steel player is Al Perkins.

this cd is not by Greg Leisz and he didn't even play on it. The credit on it is a mistake.
The producer, Kimo West played all non-pedal guitar.

There is a Hawaiian tribute to Jimmy Buffett also!

I can't wait for the Hawaiian Tribute to Tower Of Power!

Greg was going to play on it, but didn't in the end, and the producer evidently sent his name to the printer, way ahead of schedule.

thanks for the update, rich. in my opinion greg leisz is a very talented and versatile player, i saw him at a k.d.lang concert. you may recall k.d's now famous quote regarding his steel guitar playing..... listen also to his version of "moana chimes" on the soundtrack of the film "punch drunk love".

on the other theme: i listened to samples of the three "Hawaiian Tribute" albums ( Bob Marley, Rascal Flatt, Sublime(?)) there are some very interesting cross-overs and refreshing steel guitar and ukulele sounds and stylings there. I had always wondered about reggae and steel...maybe, Bill, the "Hawaiian Tribute" topic calls for a thread of its own since you introduced us to it....
