Hello Everyone,

I have reduced the price of this beautiful instrument
650.00 shipped to the lower 48

I have a Tom Pettingill lapsteel up for sale. As you all know Tom passed away recently, he was a master builder, and this one is no exception.

This is a 6 string lapsteel made of a gorgeous piece of Khaya wood (west african mahogany) Tom was a master of selecting his woods. The sustain on this guitar is beyond belief. It has Toms signature True Oil finish that looks fantastic. The frettboard is highly figured maple, as well as the pickup control cover. I had a boutique pickup installed which is a humbucker that fits a P90 footprint, handmade by Pete Biltoft at vintage vibe guitars. It has a coil splitter for single coil, or humbucking tones.. and sounds fantastic! Pete winds a fantastic pickup!

The guitar comes with a handmade case that I built myself out of baltic birch, with a plush interior.

There is one small ding on the guitar, (bar ding, not visible in pics, and some very minor finish wear near the pickup. There are also some signatures on the guitar from some of my musical "friends" just a few, and could probably be taken off, but most have faded away anyhow, about 5 in total...

The sound is sweet, warm, and gorgeous

Here are some pictures:

This guitar was used on the recording of at least 6 records. If you search youtube for "The Milagro Saints" there is some live footage out there of yours truly playing the guitar.

Price 650.00 shipped to lower 48

*please send paypal as a "gift" to cover the paypal fee

thanks very much,

Smitty

That's a beautiful guitar. I was in talks with Tom last year about building a lap steel in this body style, but I couldn't make it happen at the time, unfortunately. I really wish I could go for this one, but I have my own lap steel that is up for sale.

She is a beauty, Tom was a master builder and his passing is a huge loss to our musical community..
