I am getting on in years and have not played very much lately. I grew up with lap steel guitars and Dobro's.
I have a double neck lap steel that I built and have been looking at getting a Dobro.
How good is the Galveston resonator and because it is priced pretty low is it worth anything. I would not be opposed to changing the cone to a Quarterman if the quality of the main unit is OK.

From my hands-on experience in local music stores, I would avoid the Galveston, Fender, and Epiphone brands of resonator guitars, if you want any quality at all. Th Regal is the only 'cheap' brand ($350 - $500) I have played that has some sound of a 'dobro' quality.

Thanx,
Jim
