This post is for a friend who recently acquired a used Rickenbacher Electro 6-string lap steel and an accompanying small matching amp. He would like to determine their age--the guitar's SN is E2229 and the amp has a SN of E2267. Please email me if any of you guys/gals have any info I can share with him. Thx. ...lefty

Without a picture it's a little harder but E series guitars are model 59 and they did come with matching metal (lunchbox) amplifier. The number is early so I would guess around 1938-39 range. Enjoy!

Where are the knob(s) located? one side, both sides, or one knob all by itself?

hi Dave,
I contacted my friend and he said there are two knobs, one on each side of the pickup. The amp has no knobs on it. ...lefty
