I have an autographed picture of Webb Pierce that he signed for me around 1953. I want to give it to someone who collects these and it will be displayed.
Do you know of someone. I may not give to the first one who responds. I will see what is out there.
I also have an 8 by 10 of Jimmy Dickens and his band circa 1953. They came to MS State when I was in school there and did a show. The person in charge of promotion gave me this picture. There is a steel player with a D-8 (no pedals) but I do not know who he is. I would like to know. I do not have the capability of posting pictures.

Mike, good to get your reply. Send me your address and I will send you the Webb Pierce picture. I was looking for something like you have. I will also send you the Jimmy Dickens picture. Maybe you can tell me who the steel player is in the Dickens picture. I will give you the pictures and pay the postage just to know they have a good home.

Jack, you are really taxing this senior adult brain.
I saw Webb in Memphis and I think the year was 1953.
This is when I got the signed picture. He was at the City Auditorium. The only other person I remember on the show was one of the Wilburn brothers.
I don't remember which Welburn brother. The other one was not there.
He was just out of the army and Webb was trying to get him started on his career. There were others on the show but I do not remember them. I also think he was introduced as a member of the LA Hayride. This was just before he went to the Opry.
Jimmy Dickens was not on the show with Webb.
Jimmy came to MS State while I was a student there (sometime from 1951-1955). He came with his band. There were no other artist on the show. I remember they came in two cars. It was a great show. I got to meet Jimmy and speak with him briefly.
I also saw Webb at the first Jimmy Rogers Festival in Meridian. I think this was in the spring of 1954 but someone on the Forum can correct me if I am wrong. A fellow student and I rode our thumbs over to Meridian. In addition to Webb I remember seeing Lefty Frizell, Justin Tubb (really young), Goldie Hill, Zeke Clements and Jimmie Davis.
There were others I am sure but only these do I remember.
Speaking of memories, I went to Nashville in the spring of 1951 and saw Hank Williams at the Opry.
Always good to be in touch with a fellow Mississippian. Bill
